Stress Management

Change has become "Hyperchange"!

The current (COVID-19) pandemic is an unusual reality, full of daily constraints that impose major changes in our lives. Stress is ubiquitous and stress levels in this era of hyperchange are peaking and as a result it can leave us feeling overwhelmed.

"Stress is experience and symptoms are feedback" Carol Ann Brazier

With all these changes happening in our lives right now, stress is building up and just like a saucepan on the stove, if we do not watch it will overflow. Too much stress can harm our physical and mental health, so incorporating relaxation exercises into our daily lives is important. Breathing is our basic relaxation tool, always available and a 100% natural tranquilizer! Breathing exercises provide both physical and mental benefits, they help relax the whole body and significantly calm the heart rate.

Here is a little breathing exercise that I call "Get your Chill on!"

Inhale through the nose for the count of 2, followed by exhaling through your mouth to the count of 4, repeat for a few minutes. This way of breathing increases the CO2 in the blood system which then relaxes the body and calms the thoughts, in other words you’re on your way to Chilling.
